Brendan is the youngest of the 'elders' and has a gift and passion for sharing the good news of Christ with others. He is married to Brooke and they have two young sons named Wyatt and Will. Brendan has a Bachelor's degree related to Sports/Exercise Science and owns his own construction/remodeling company called "Covenant Construction and Remodel LLC." Ben McComb has always had a heart for kids and had an aspiration to invest in their lives. He went to West Virginia University on a football scholarship, where he played four years and also coached there afterwards. Ben has owned two sports-related retail businesses. His last business was in Evergreen where we owned "The Sports Mine", a sporting goods store and ski shop. Ben was a Regional Director for Young Life, a Para-church youth ministry. He was seminary trained at Fuller Seminary's Institute of Youth Ministry, and ordained in 1975. He has been working in student ministry since the 70s, both in a full time capacity and as a volunteer leader. In 1985, he and his wife, Judy, founded Youth Net Work (dba Teen Lunch Clubs) a Colorado non-profit youth ministry. For three decades, they and their myriad of trained volunteer leaders have ministered to thousands of students in ten Colorado school communities. The Evergreen Teen Lunch Club continues to be their flagship and the original Lunch Club. The McCombs home and ranch have been used by students for over twenty years for weekly discipleship gatherings, called 'Campaigners'. They were also a foster home for high-risk teenage boys. The McCombs have 13 grandchildren (mainly girls) and their mountain home and ranch are known to them as "Papa Nana Land." It's sort of a mystical place to them, where dreams unfold and memories are being built to last a life time.
LIFE VERSE: Psalm 31:15: "But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, "You are my God, My times are in your hands." ' Early every morning, Ben starts his day with that verse when fellowshipping with God in Christ.
BEN'S HOPE FOR ASCENT IN THE EVERGREEN COMMUNITY: "To be astute, caring adults who are willing to venture into the culture of our community; having the love of Christ, with a sense of strategy, holy serendipity, ecumenism, discipleship, and reaching out to students who are worthy of our investment."
WHAT BEN LIKES MOST ABOUT THE PEOPLE AT ASCENT CHURCH: "They seem to accept me even though I'm an adolescent adult who doesn't take himself too seriously, has gray hair, titanium knees, and a random sense of humor."

LIFE VERSE: Genesis 22:14 - "On the mountain of the Lord, it will be provided." Andy loves this verse because he believes it is one of the most amazing stories in the Bible - "Abraham is being obedient to God and is asked to make the ultimate sacrifice by offering his son, Isaac. This story tells me that if we are willing to give it all to God, then we will never be in want of anything."
