9 months. 12 learners. A dedicated mentor. And the Scriptures.
Personal formation with the goal of living with greater wisdom.
Do you want to increase in wisdom? A person whose reflexes increasingly become like God's desires and ways? Someone who understands God, life, and the world better each day? 1 Kings 4 says "God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore . . . He was wiser than anyone else . . . He composed some 3,000 proverbs and wrote 1,005 songs. He could speak with authority about all kinds of plants, from the great cedar of Lebanon to the tiny hyssop that grows from cracks in a wall. He could also speak about animals, birds, small creatures, and fish. And kings from every nation sent their ambassadors to listen to the wisdom of Solomon."
This Fall, we begin an intentional and intense discipleship with the goal of discovering God's wisdom--to not only understand THE SCRIPTURES better, but to understand LIFE more deeply. This doesn't happen by occasionally watching documentaries and just listening to someone else preach about it a couple times a month. It requires great curiosity, intense effort, and increasing faithfulness. God can only invest wisdom about the larger world into those who are learners, those who are humble, and those who are dedicated.
The Solomon Project is about pursuing this with deep-hearted, wide-eyed, and spiritually/intellectually/emotionally hungry people. With 17+ intense group sessions from Sept 18-May 19 along with a one-on-one personal discipleship each month with a mentor, and curriculum that stretches us, you cannot emerge from this year unchanged.
There is a costly investment to be a part of a Solomon group: (1) commitment to attend no fewer than 15 of 17 group sessions--which fall on 2nd & 4th Wednesdays (6:30p-8p), (2) 100% commitment to monthly one-on-one mentoring appointments, (3) commitment to read all the materials and perform the exercises, (4) faithfulness to attend no less than 28 of 36 Sunday Worship/Sermon experiences during this 9-mo season, (5) dedication to enrich the others in the Solomon Project group both relationally and intellectually, and (6) a commitment to personally develop another person in their spiritual life during the year following your time in the Solomon Project.
